I have a 4th generation ipod w/photo. It stopped working and gave me the sad face. I have replaced the battery, hard drive and finally the logic board. When I hook it up to the power charger it makes noise as though it were trying to work but it does nothing else. If I've essentially rebuilt this thing why is it still not working? Thanks in advance

klule664, double check the HDD cable. Make sure it is not tore, that the pins are not bend. Also, I would check the HDD with a USB adapter. Just to make sure it is working. Of course, you know that you have to have a Firewire connection to restore it.

The ribbon cables are all intact. I think I'm going to start over and rebuild it again. I lost one of the small screws that holds the logic board in place, does that make a difference? Thanks again
