Battery cable does not match with the board

So, bad news.

Going to replace the battery in my phone and the actual plug for the replacement battery (OnePlus 9 5G Battery - BLP821) from iFixit does not actually line up with the devices battery cable plug in spot.

Does anyone know if it would be safe for me to bend the cable till it matches up with the port?

(Edit: Images added, apologies for poor image quality. Had to use my laptop to get them lol)

Images are both respective batteries placed next each other, in the battery compartment, and the connector for the battery.

Payton, a picture is worth a thousand words. It might help if we could see a photo of the cable and connector you're talking about.

That being said, a hard lesson I learned is that, when replacing a battery, you always have to plug the battery in first before sticking it down with adhesive. That guarantees the connector will reach once the battery is secured to the phone. Is that what happened; you stuck the battery down and now the connector isn't lined up?

If that's what happened, you'll have to remove the battery again. Reapply adhesive if needed, then plug it in, stick it down and unplug it once more, then finish reassembling the phone.

To clarify:

No, I did not try sticking down the battery before plugging it in. I always dry fit to ensure components fit before permanently sticking them in. The problem is the cable for the battery doesn't reach where it is supposed to plug into no matter which way I try to fit it

@paytong17911 Ah, okay, the pictures help. Yeah, it sure looks like it's got the wrong connector. Can you add a link to the battery you purchased and any specific model numbers from your phone? I'm seeing that your comment mentions a OnePlus 9 5G battery, but your question is categorized under the device heading of a OnePlus 9 Pro. With the model number, we can verify on the battery page that it's supposed to fit your particular phone. Any chance we've simply got the wrong battery here?

and reading your comment I believe I may have actually purchased the wrong battery :|
