Replacement keyboard doesn't fit

Hi everyone. Keyboard needs replacement on my Macbook Pro, so I ordered one off ebay. It is advertised as a A1278 keyboard, which I believe is the correct one for my laptop. However, after taking the whole thing apart I quickly realized that the two keyboards aren't exactly the same and the new one doesn't fit.

I've no idea if the keyboard I've received is infact a A1278, or else they have changed over the years or whatnot. Rather clueless. Linked below are some comparisons, and I would love if someone could tell me what kind of keyboard it is, and what kind of keyboard I actually need. I greatly appreciate any insight, and for some good advice I would gladly donate the cost of a beer! I desperately need to get my laptop sorted (it's my work tool) and I can't be left out of action by sending it to someone else to have it repaired (plus, I can save a whole lot doing it myself).

Other than that, from the front the two keyboards look aesthetically the same, but from the back it is obvious they are different and the new one doesn't fit properly or site flushly.

Want to be sure I have my facts right before tackling the ebay seller about this and (hopefully) getting my money back. €70 total :(
