This is a replacement guide for the HP Chromebook 11 G5 DC charging port. The main purpose of the steps below is to show you how to replace the charging port and what needs to be removed before. This guide is to replace the charging port which is responsible for charging the device. So, if you notice that your device is not charging or if it’s charging slowly, then that means that there is an issue with the charging port. This process should be done very carefully because the charging port is attached to other parts of the device. So, before removing the DC port there will be several wires that will need to be disconnected. Remove four large rubber pads from the bottom of the device to reveal screws using the pointed end of a spudger.

Disconnect the charging port cable from the motherboard using your finger or a spudger and gently pull it off.

Do you guys sell these replacement DC Ports or know where to find them? (I work for a school, but the students keep breaking things! I need, like, 25 of these… yep, it’s that bad. Even found a literal nest of cockroaches inside one of them. I still have the picture/video of it for the morbidly curious lol.)
