Wedge a dull picket knife or jimmy between the top of the heel tip to help loosen and separate the tip.

Place the pin end of the new tip into the heels opening.

Heel Pin too thick: Grind down the pin carefully to make them fit
Heel Pin too thin: You can hammer the pin on an avil to slightly flatten it out so that they fit snugly and can be hammered in, or twist some copper wire together and insert with the heel tip to make it thicker so that you can hammer it in snugly -
