We’re delighted to announce that we are working with Google to sell genuine parts for Pixel phones, starting later this year. You can learn more about it in Google’s blog post.
We will be continuing to write our step-by-step Google Pixel phone repair guides, which are comprehensive going all the way back to the original Pixel. Repair guides are live for every Pixel through the Pixel 5, and we are writing guides for the 5a, 6, and 6 Pro right now.
Our parts selection will include everything you need for the most common Google Pixel repairs—batteries, displays, cameras, and more. We will sell them both individually and as part of Fix Kits, which include all the tools you need to fix your Google Pixel, from screwdriver bits to spudgers.
Starting later this year, genuine Pixel spare parts will be available for purchase at ifixit.com for Pixel 2 through Pixel 6 Pro, as well as future Pixel models, in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and European Union countries where Pixel is available.
Each kit comes with the iOpener, our opening tool designed to apply heat directly and evenly to case components joined with adhesive. The kits also include replacement pre-cut adhesive for securing and re-waterproofing your Pixel.
The full set of tools in our Pixel repair kits:
- iOpener
- Replacement pre-cut adhesive
- iFixit Opening Picks (Set of 6)
- Spudger
- iFixit Opening Tool
- Suction Handle
- Angled Tweezers
- Precision Bit Driver with Integrated SIM Eject Tool
- 4 mm Precision Bits appropriate for the specific phone
Google already provides the software required to calibrate new fingerprint sensors upon installation to the public for free.
We have been collaborating with Google’s team to improve repairability of Pixel phones for the last five years and look forward to continuing that relationship.
“If we’re going to build a sustainable electronics industry, consumers must have options to repair products themselves. Google is making repair more affordable and accessible, even in places without repair shops. We are committed to enabling repairs at a place and time of your choosing,” says iFixit CEO Kyle Wiens.
With this program, Google joins a growing list of manufacturers leading the industry by supporting repair. We’re thrilled to be able to support manufacturers in enabling people to fix things themselves.

Very nice. I'm happy to have bought a Pixel.
It's very cumbersome to find okay'ish batteries for many phones because 3rd party batteries are often very bad and sometimes even dangerous.
It's great to be able to buy genuine parts without having to send it in

Great to see,
Pixel parts hard to find

Good, but that good is weakened by Google sunsetting software updates for Pixel phones so early. The software equivalent would be them strongarming all parts manufacturers to open source any end of support firmware/blobs on older pixel phones.

I think they are saying that when a company (e.g. Google) ends software (or firmware) support for a particular piece of hardware that this reduces the value of extending the hardware's life with parts. Their example is confusing to me but seems to suggest that providing phone hardware parts is equivalent to providing open source firmware at the end of the support period. I'm not sure if that's true but it's an interesting discussion :)

Let's go finnaly I will be able to found genuine parts for Pixels in Europe. Oh and the easy purchase and fast shipping on Ifixit and in Europe they also include a little pack of Haribo gummy bears. Thank you we will be finally saved from all the crappy Indian parts sites which take months to arrive.

Convince Google to move from glue to screw. Might add maybe couple of dollars to the cost, but from a repairability point of view, be worth it.

All my smartphones to-date have been iPhones. I loved them, and I didn't know any better. I didn't understand that you could have well made, beautiful and repairable devices. Apple's commitment to making devices incredibly difficult to repair or upgrade, along with a number of other instances of anti-consumer action, is now pushing me away. This is very welcome news. Well done iFixit!

Parts a still a bit high, making the how to guide a bit of a non starter for many, but admittedly they are cheaper than many of the alternatives.
Hopefully when the European Union implements these regulations fully, that they will include some sort of regulation about the prices, otherwise there will be the same amount of waste. Not being able to repair the phone themselves is only a part of the problem. When the replacement parts cost as much as new phone is another problem in itself.
All of that said, loving to see this and hopefully things will speed up with more manufacturers getting on board.

I applaud iFixit's and Google's collaboration with the Pixel phones. My Pixel 2 still performs just fine; and, I want to keep it running. Another person (ghuul ejon) lamented the fact that Google stops software updates for phones too early. I, too, would like to see Google and other manufacturers support their products longer and use that and parts availability as a selling point. Nevertheless, kudos iFixit and Google for helping us owners.

I was unhappy with the Pixel phone issues but wish I had it instead of my iPhone 13 pro. So glad to be able to fix it after spending $300 on repairs and still not having a working phone.

Hello. Maybe someone knows, when will the screen for google pixel 5a 5g be available?
Anastasiia Kretsula - 답글
Great question! We already have this part which will be a compatible replacement part for your Pixel 5A 5G. Unfortunately, they’re currently out of stock, but if you click the “Notify Me” button on the part page we promise to email you as soon as we restock. Happy fixing!

Will google pixel 3 screen with frame be available for purchase i want to fix my cracked pixel 3 and change the entire color at the same time?
Oliver Lauritsen - 답글
Hi @oliverapps,
We already carry the rear panel and the screen for the Google Pixel 3. Double check that the parts I'm linking are compatible with your specific phone. Hope this helps!

Much work needs to be done on supply throughout the world of parts. I was very disappointed that in the UK store, a Pixel 4a (4G) screen was unavailable. This is a part which is extraordinarily difficult to source at a reasonable price. I had to go elsewhere. The repair guide was helpful.

Google should not be recommending iFixit as it will tarnish their Pixel brand. I ordered a replacement. IFixit took my $149.99. Then cancelled the transaction saying I did not pay. Now I am out the money and the recommendation from Google a total bust! I should have bought my screen on Amazon. The team at iFixit is not what they used to be.

@ghuul @dan21566 make valid points which I share but the silver lining (until circumstances don't require end-users to look for one because policy, etc., (in this case, extended software support) mitigate the need) is that every Pixel device shipped/ships with an unlocked bootloader (IMO, the #1 contributing factor in choosing Pixels to this day, closely followed by repairability. At least for Android enthusiasts/power users). Sure, this isn't as ideal as baked-in, supported OTA updates and requires the user to root their device (& be knowledgeable/resourceful enough to do so & navigate the inevitable bumps in the road that any who dare acquire the God-like powers root access grants can expect ("with great power comes great responsibility"). Improvements to stock Android have made Rooting in 2023→ more niche/"edge-case" than ever, but if you want ultimate control & the ability to tell OEMs where to shove their planned obsolescence/forced upgrades, root might be a good fit*
*Not an endorsement/recommendation
