Does the screen replacement have a back light on it?
the back light on my ipod has gone out and it needs to be fixed

Isaac Lunn ,the actual backlight is part of the LCD whereas the inverter circuit that drives the backlight, is part of the logic board. The 4th gen iPod touch uses the same IC and coil as the iPhone 4. Start by replacing the display assembly, it's the easier of the two choices.
