running Classic (OS 9.2) programs - increasing their memory

Dear Sir,

I am operating Classic (OS 9.2) programs (Word 5, Photoshop 3, MS Office Powerpoint 9, etc.) on a g5 IMac running 10.4, and having no problem.

I just installed Adobe PageMill 3, and when I open up web pages I've created earlier, it tells me "Not enough memory to draw the image" - and it doesn't, jpgs are missing.

In the Applications folder i selected the Pagemill icon, pulled up Info, and can see the Memory, Suggested Size of 8000 KB. I'd like to increase the Minimum and Preferred Size numbers to overcome the program memory shortage (as I used to do on my G3 power mac, 9.2), but it doesn't allow me to make changes.

What do I do?

How do I get more memory allotted to Pagemill?

Cordially,

Oliver

Check the files permissions are you the owner?

If you are the owner you may need to use a resource editor to alter it. But, before you do, is this the last version Adobe made? If not see if you can get it updated first. You maybe hitting an internal limit of the app. Can you lower the memory allocation if you can lower it then this is the limit Adobe set. The app could become unstable if you push the size to far (and corrupt your files).

Hey@danj Sorry it took so long. I'm sitting @mayer and a Colorado Bulldog. Just spent thirty minutes answering a Dear Abby question to a sweet 17 girl who just wanted a kiss. The motley crew around here banned the question as not repair related.

I went to log in and realized I already had an account and had failed to properly thank you for your efforts five years ago. Amends now made.

I'm in to my second Bulldog now ;-)
