iPhone will only turn on original wall charger.

My iPhone 2G has stopped syncing with my computer and stopped charging off USB chargers. However, when I plug into my Mac via USB it doesn't turn on, but it recognizes the iPhone in DFU mode (unfortunately, Itunes cannot get back it to life due to the 1601 error) .

Interesting thing that iPhone will only turn on original wall charger but with strange behaviors: when i connect it to wall charger, the apple logo appears for a second and disappear after 5 seconds. However, I can put it into recovery mode by pressing Home button and then it could stay on that mode for a 15min or more. After that I try to disconnect USB wall charger it suddenly turns off...

It doesn't turn on car charger or with another iPod/iPhone chargers... (I used a lot of different cables and adaptors, so the problem isnt in cable).

Sounds like a bad battery (if I'm correct in understanding it doesn't turn on when not connected to a charger), you can get a new one here.

The problem is, that it only powers when I connect it to the original apple USB wall charger, instead of other 3rd party chargers.

For example - I have Apple USB wall charger - 100-240V ~0.15A 50-60 Hz. Output is 5V ---- 1A. iPhone powers on for a while.

And another one is Gecko USB charger - 100-240V, 250mA, 50-60 HZ, Output is the same - 5V ---- 1A. iPhone doesn't power on at all. (I use this adaptor to charge my wife's iPhone and iPod, so it works great...)

No, it doesn't power on when I connect it to PC/MAC or to 3rd party USB wall charger. It powers on only by original apple usb charger for a 5 sec showing just the apple logo.

I have one suggestion. It didnt work for me, but I replaced my lcd screen myself so I might be experiancing another problem. Uninstall itunes and apple mobile support, all apple stuff, bonjour aswell. You will also have to erase your itunes library, just save it to a file on your desktop.The reason i say to erase your music library is because the 7.5 itunes will not be able to read the newer version. Download itunes 7.5. After this connect your iPhone to the computer in dfu mode your itunes will see it and click restore. I did this with my phone and got so close to fixing my phone but, then it made that all to familiar sound of unplugging just before it was finnished syncing.Its worth a try!Please let me know if it worked.
