I replaced the digitizer and in the process the strip on the lcd (it's thicker and seems like it is foam) has been roughed up.... Is there any replacement products I can use? I don't see anything about this anywhere...Also While I have you.... Some areas of the new digitizer act erratic. Where could the issue be?

This is the foam gasket. It is almost impossible to buy the correct one because nobody seems to care about quality repairs.

There are quality digitizers with quality adhesive from suppliers like iFixit or Mobile Defenders... Hint sellers online like Amazon is not a good choice, unless you have proven that the seller has quality parts. The black adhesive is best and the clear is "cheap jelly" to say the least! I have perfect seals with the black and constantly coming unsealed with the clear mess... Hope this helps.
if the screen is "ghost touching" Meaning just randomly touching places and acting wierd. 1 of 2 problems.
1. Bad connection
Clean ribbon cable with alcohol.
Reconnect digitizer flex. Reset the device
2. If that doesn't fix it than more than likely you have bad part.

I actually discovered that the ghost touching is because of an ESD happening between the digitizer and the chassis. Kapton tape along the bottom of the lcd does the trick

the foam gasket u can buy on etradesupply.
i can not give u a link, cause the system will mark it at spam- this already happened.
etradesupply has a warehouse in the US.
i am in switzerland and order from the warehouse in china.
it's the best foam gasket i ever saw, cause it's comeing on a template.
just place the template over the lcd and push a little bit the foam and take it off and thats it.
