My camera will start, but whenever I push a button other than the shutter button, it shuts down. Can this be repaired, or is it a short in the system? We have never dropped the camera, and we have also changed batteries and SD card already with no luck

since it's shutting down when any button except the shutter is pressed - i think the lens or the flash can be ruled out.
it sounds to me like a fluid/humidity damage and when you press a button - everything gets shorted
so i would open it using the logic board guide and chek everything for fluid residue
