Why won't my screen light up?

The screen on my phone won't light up. I know that the phone is on because it will still ring and vibrate, but nothing will appear on the screen.

The inside LCD connection for the screen may have come loose or is possibly disconnected. This could have been caused by possible dropping of the phone, or water damage. Therefore the screen would not be lighting up.
