Galaxy note 2 stopped charging
the charger snaps into the port perfectly but it doesnt charge. I bought a new battery and the phone works with that but still doesn't charge. What do you suggest?

Did you try with another charger ?
Maybe, you could check if the charge board is still correcty connected.This video show you the dissambly process and the charge board at 4:59.

The above might be correct or it might be the fact that the charger port itself is dirty.
This happened to my phone, dust had gathered up and stopped charging my phone. So try clean it, if no luck, go for the guide above.

I've seen a lot of issues with the Note charging ports physically coming off of the board. I would open it up and make sure it's connected well. You can buy a replacement charging circuit board - they run about $7-15 and try it. That would be the easiest solution, and would likely fix any issues. If that DOESN'T fix the issue, then you have real problems.
