Fake digitizer, bought from Amazon! I want an OEM part?

Hi all, I followed the instruction here on ifixit.com and I can tell you that you guys are doing an amazing job. After trying to replace he digitizer for the first time I rushed the LCD removal a little bit, resulted in a cracked LCD. I ordered another one and went through complete tear down here and finally my iPad is fixed.

But, when I tested a few apps like Paper by 53, Adobe Photoshop and Sketch (designing apps) I figured out that I'm not able to draw a single straight line on this digitizer. Digitizer would be irresponsive even in some games, where you have to "pick up" one object and slide it to the other part of the screen it just loses it. Same happens when you're moving your finger across the screen it doesn't have a sleek touch, like the original one, instead makes your finger "stuck" on the glass, not to mention using the stylos pen. That's how I found out that my digitizer which came from Amazon is far from being an OEM part. Also the screen seems kind of yellowish compared to the original one and the home button fell in after the installation. Although I don't have any problems with the home button I'd replace this fake screen as soon as possible cause it's annoying.

I'm using my iPad mini Retina for drawing and sketching, since I'm working in graphic design, but now I can't find no use for it except for reading.

Please if you guys let me know where could I order an original quality digitizer..if that's even possible?

I saw the digitizer kit they're offering here, but who can guarantee the quality except the people who actually tried it?

I'd really appreciate it.

Bojan Stojakovic, are you already know, you can only get OEM from the company directly. In your case that would be Apple. Since Apple does not sell the part you need, you will have to find a reputable seller. Ever wondered what happens to old displays with cracked glass and digitizer? Those are being sold to companies that have the tools, manpower etc. to refurbish them. Some of those companies are really good about the replacement digitizers, some of them are not to good (or honest) about how they refurbish. My suggestion would be to get it from ifixit. I am in no way connected to the business part of ifixit and have no financial interest in the company. I do like the way they do business, their parts are most certainly OEM quality and they do have a great warranty and return policy. Yes, the prices are higher, but in this case you do get what you pay for. Hope this helps, good luck.

Makes sense, I was thinking to order one from here. I just wanted to see the comments of people who already replaced the digitizer with the one from ifixit.com cause it's very hard to return the item once you already have it installed and remove the protection film. Which was previously the case, I couldn't say that it wouldn't work out this way before I completed the installation and fully tested the iPad.

No such thing as an oem part. Shops just advertise that they are but apple doesn't sell their parts separately. Its easier just to take it to a repair shop and pay 120 or so and have them fix it up so if there are any problems like youre mentioning you can just take it back and have them fix it.

Yeah, I got that. But I definitely think that some of the parts are as good as OEM. I mean I replaced the retina display, same LG LCD, I can't see no difference between original and this one. Too bad that wasn't a case with the digitizer.

Jason - Lets rephrase this a bit... Parts that don't have an Apple part number assigned to them are salvaged parts or parts that went out the back door of the factory. Apple does sell parts but only parts with assigned P/N's and only to their authorized partners.
