automatically shutdown with click noise and not starting again

my dell n5010 laptop automatically shut down with a click noise and does not restarting again when i click on the power button it start upto boot process but not complete the boot and shut down again with the same clicking sound. I have have to wait at least 20 mins then it get restated but hardly for 10 minutes. My battery is not working it is on direct AC power. Please help if any one can on this issue.

ram14489, could be an overheating issues since you have to wait for 20 minutes before restarting. I would disassemble the laptop and clean the fan, air inlet slots and replace the thermal paste. Then retry and see what happens.

Yes u r right its heating issue. I have clean the fan and air inlet slot. Now its working fine.

This is the heating issue, the sound you hear click is the coming from hard drive. Your laptop is facing heating issue. I would suggest you to clean the cpu fan by removing the sink from the processor, before reinstalling the cpu in its place dont forget to paste thermal compound.

لايمكن اصلاح كذا مشكلة لان البروسيسور يكون قد تعرض لحرارة عالية وتمدد وسيكون اداءة غير جيد

الحل المؤقت هو استبدال المعجون الحراري للبروسيسور وتنضيف المروحة لكن هذا سينجح فقط في البلدان ذات الجو البارد

لكن ان بقي الاب توب يعمل لفنرة طويلة سترجع المشكلة

I cleaned the fan and the sink, cleaned the CPU too, but it still goes off unexpectedly with a clicking sound from the external hard drive, and to turn it on I have to wait 10 to 20 minutes
