3 possiblities:
1-bad ram module
2-remove ALL power supply to unit. Battery, power cord. Push and hold power button for 60 seconds. Try it now.
3-bad inverter board or backlight bulb.

try adding a new os it may just need a new os no garentees that it will work

I added the ibm t43 hdd to my gateway laptop and it worked like normal

My PC will turn on, but there is no beep when it starts (it used to beep when turned on and everything workeds fine) and there is no signal to the screen

NE56R41u power on then shuts off after 5 seconds. No beep. Black screen.
Did all the standard troubleshooting before disassembled it. Same behavior with naked mainboard.
Is this MB failure?

Does the pc give a series of beeps when you turn it on? If so how many beeps?
