More often then not the left mouse button double clicks. I have adjusted the sensitivity to the lowest possible setting and it's made no difference. Probably the button needs to be cleaned. Could you tell me if it's safe to take them apart like you would a key board and clean them? It's a basic Logitech mouse with wheel in the center. I'm sorry I don't know the model. Thanks for any information.

you will find inside the mouse something similar to this

you will need a needle to open the microswitch and some paper to clean the switch - but i would suggest to read more about this (with a good picture of the switch) here (click)

Look on the bottom of the mouse for a number. It's very hard to tell you how to take something apart if you don't know what it is. Go to Google and do an "Image search" for a Logitech mouse and see if you can spot yours.

I did this search and came up with dozens of different mice.
Is the plural of a computer mouse, mouses, mice or moose ;-)

I had the same problem with my mouse, that is a regular chinese one.
I took the little pads in the bottom out, opened the mouse with a small screwdiver.
Then i put a couple drops of contact cleaner on the switch that i had the problem - the left one, in my case- and pushed the little switch slowly several times to absorb the liquid, and repeated it a couple times.
Finally, I waited about half an hour and then reassembled the mouse, and it worked nice.
