1 laptop cannot start pressing power button, the power light once
I have a Dell inspiron 1501 and possibly some power purge due to connection with some external usb devices, it no longer can turn on pressing the power button. The battery has died and have been removed for a long time so I depend on the ac plug charger/adapter. When I press the power button, its LED light turns on once and then off and nothing seen on the screen. I open the case and see that the power button is that some kind of mechanical push switch on a small piece of pcb. Is that any way I can turn on the laptop by shorting somewhere?

I opened the panel of the power button of Inspiron 1501 and use some wires to short the terminals near the power button and it works like what I press the power button as before but do not show anything on screen or turn on the laptop. Will there any mechanism that I can bypass the power button? You can find video how the 1501 looks when disassemble on youtube. It is a pcb.
