Powers up, talks but screen stays black

When I turn on the machine it does chime then a robotish voice begins to speak. But the screen stays black. I tried connecting an external monitor via the DVI port but still nothing.

Please give us the last three figures of your serial number, found on the bottom of your stand.

Looks like the serial number has faded but the model is A1208. Hope this helps.
