someone inerted the stylus to the samsung note 5 improperly . it was retrieved from the phone however the software does not work at this time.. is it the phone broken or does the stylus need to be replaced or both?

If the phone stylus system isn't working properly, say for example if you insert it and it's saying there is no s-pen inside, the phone needs to be sent in to the repair center to get fixed. If there's no physical/liquid damage the repair will be free, but call samsung. Any self help repairs will immediately void the warranty. Well if it alters the software in anyway.
