6 Why do I not get a dial tone?
When I go to make a call there is no dial tone?

One of the things i would check would be on the menu screen on the phone you can adjust the volume.

I frequently find one of my Vtech handset unable to make connection with the base station. I would love to find a way to solve that problem permanently. I can only temporarily correct the issue by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. This is annoying and will eventually result in the destruction of the small connector which is not designed for frequent disconnection.

Hi,
Have you got a non wireless type (wired or corded) phone that you can plug into the telephone line socket to see if you get dial tone ? Does your phone show that the battery is charged? What happens when you call your phone number, using another phone?

Hi Jayeff,
Thanks for your quick comment. I am actually doing this ifixit project for a course in college and they require us to ask three common problems with the phone. So we don't actually have this problem but it is a very common and one of the other members of my group answers the question. Thanks for helping though.
