Hi,
Connect an external monitor to the laptop and see if there is a display showing on it when you turn on the laptop.
If there is no display showing on the external monitor you most probably have a GPU or motherboard problem.
If there is a display showing on the external monitor, try holding a torch at an angle close the the laptop screen and see if you can detect the Windows desktop being displayed.
If you can see the Windows desktop this way then you most probably have a backlighting problem.
If you cannot see the Windows desktop this way then you either have a faulty video cable between the motherboard and the screen, a faulty video cable connection on the motherboard or the LCD screen or a faulty LCD screen.
