How to stop a restart loop for htc m7

I have a htc one m7 and it just started doing the reboot loop everyone is talking about. I think it is completely died, but the green light notification is blinking slowly. When i plugged it up to the wall an orange light starts blinking while the green light is still on. it shows the battery icon with the lightening bolt in the middle but it just start rebooting again. I want to know if changing the battery and power button will fix my problem or should i give up all hope.

I have tried holding the power and volume buttons down but nothing. The boot window comes up but before I could select an option the phone would restart again.
