Negative batter cable connection

I have a 2007 ford focus tdci and the negative battery terminal has came disconnected completely there are 3 connections 1 to the battery 1 too the body near the battery and i cannot work out where the other goes i am assuming somewhere on the gearbox/engine but am not sure please help
