OpenDNS blocking certain websites

When attempting to access a category of websites I get this message from OpenDNS:

This domain is blocked due to content filtering.

If you think this shouldn't be blocked, please contact your network administrator.

How can OpenDNS be removed or disabled?

Here is a link that explains the various options on how to setup OpenDNS.

You may have to check where the OpenDNS settings have been made, either in your router or in your pc.

If it is in your pc, select the Obtain DNS server automatically option and apply.

If it is in your router go to your service provider's website and search for their DNS server settings to insert in your router

Removing OpenDNS from your device

To remove OpenDNS restrictions you need to change your DNS settings on your device. Follow the steps:

On Windows operating system

  1. Press the Start button
  2. Open Control Panel
  3. Click on Network and Sharing Center
  4. Click on the current Internet connection
  5. Click on Properties
  6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties
  7. Select (Use the following DNS server addresses:)
  8. Enter as the preferred DNS server and as the alternate server
  9. Select (Validate settings upon exit) and click OK
  10. Done

On Android or iOS

  1. Download the app called
  2. Open the app and connect.
  3. Done
