Display on Rain Bird EST-4TM reads Program Off
I changed the battery and fuse and it still reads PR OFF,when I disconnect the AC power it still reads PR-OFF, when I take the battery out it still reads PR-OFF. It wont let me input anything. I cut all power and return the battery and dc power but it is still PR OFF

Hi,
Remove the AC power and the battery for 2-3 minutes, then re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC power and see if the unit is now functioning correctly.
If it is still not working correctly after this then verify that there is 24V AC being supplied to the controller. Use a DMM (Digital Multimeter - Voltmeter function) to check the AC voltage level at the input terminals. (If you do not have a DMM or access to one, suitable DMMs are available from larger hardware stores for about $10 and up).
If there is 24V AC available on the input terminals then you may have to open the unit and do further testing as to what the problem is. It may be a faulty connection on the other side of the AC input terminals for example
The battery is only used to maintain the settings in the event of a power failure, it cannot power the controller.

Same symptom, my problem was a transformer wire had pulled out of the wire harness running into the bottom of rain bird unit.

Digital voltmeters are a buck with a coupon at Harbor Freight.
My Rainbird is an ESP 6 that hasn't been used for 6 years but has been plugged in. It reads “PR OFF” in the window. Buttons and dial do nothing.
My 9 volt checked in at 2.3 volts so I replaced that.
The glass fuse was open (burned) and I need a new one.
The rainbird says it's a 1.5 amp fuse printed right where the fuse goes in. The one that blew says 1.5 amp and 250 volts. I can find that, but what are these comments about a “fuse wire?”
Finally got decent weather and I'm motivated.

Hi,
Where is the comment regarding "fuse wire" that you mentioned? The user guide only mentions a fuse, not fuse wire and doesn't even give the fuse's current/ voltage rating. It only says "Replace the fuse with one of the same amperage rating."
Once you have replaced the fuse check what voltage there is across the 24VAC input terminals.
Hi! My rainbird system is doing this same thing. Did yours ever get fixed? We just bought this house, and I got it to run manually one time, but now just reads off. Thanks for any help!
