My laptop keeps slowing down to a crawl and shuts off

I've been thru 2 anti virus softwares thinking it's a virus, both said it was protected I defragged, cleaned up and deleted alot of stuff and did all recommended update, so why does it keeps slowing down and shutting off?

Hi,

Can you hear and 'feel' the fan running and are the fan vents clear and not blocked?

What OS is installed?

Have you checked in Event Viewer for any clues as to the problem, If you have time that is?

Have you tried it in safe mode?
