Ipad digitizer problem intermitment fault

Hi

I have an Ipad 2 that had a small crack on its screen. When I was using it the screen went dead but the backlight was still working and I could hear sounds.

I replaced the digitizer and the screen will work for a couple of minutes and then it will revert to backlight only and just sound.

If I remove the digitizer ribbon cable from the connectors and leave it for an hours or so, and then reconnect it - the screen will come back on as normal but only for a few minutes. I have not yet stuck the digitizer back down as I am not confident it is completely fixed. I have tried two digitizers and had the same results.

I am not sure what to do next - could it be a problem with the ribbon connector or the logic board. Is there anyway of testing what the problem could be?

Thanks

Update (03/29/2017)

Thanks for your response - I have checked everything and checked the ribbon cable - I have pushed it in as far as possible. I was hopeful that as the screen came on (for a short period of time) it may be something fixable.

Thanks again

Did you disconnect/isolate the battery when you removed the LCD? Not doing this can cause problems with the backlight circuit (although in this case it appears the backlight works but not the "image"). It is possible the the LCD driver circuit was damaged.

I would go back through the guide and double check your steps. You may have damaged the connectors on the logic board or inadvertently pried off some surrounding components. You may also have damaged the LCD, it is quite delicate.

Take a look and get back to us with more details.
