Why does my wifi keep switching off and on every few seconds?

I have a Tab S with Android 6.0.1. Quite recently, my wifi has started switching off and on every few seconds. It recognises my Virgin wifi at home, and the extender I have installed, but won't stay connected for more than a few seconds at a time. As far as I can tell, nothing else has changed to cause to this happen.

Have you tried restarting or doing a factory reset on the tablet?

Hi Cameron. Yes, I have done a factory reset on the tablet, reset the wifi box and switched everything off and on again. By the way, we use multiple other devices in the house on our wifi network and do not have the same problem with any of them - just the Tab S.

Hi,

Have you checked in Apps > Settings > Connections > WiFi > tap more options icon (3 vertical dots) > Advanced to see if the "Keep WiFi on during Sleep" option is set to Always?

You could also try disabling the Network Notifications option as well (if it is enabled) to see if this resolves the problem. This option allows/prevents the WiFi from continually scanning for new networks. Unless you want it on of course.

Do you have the same problem if you connect to another network somewhere else or only with your network?

You mention an extender, does the tablet stay connected when you are very close to the actual router?

Thanks Jayeff... I'll try these out...
