timing chain tension can it be done with out the special tools

For a BMW 740iL, BMW require you to use a special tool to adjust the tension on the timing chain for a M62 series 740iL V-8 5.75liter engine dated 08-1998?

Looks to me that all you need is 19mm deep socket. Check out what the expert at http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/sho... show you and see if that is the information you need. Good Luck....
