AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB hardware upgrade

What video card is compatible to replace the AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB in iMacs 21.5" Mid 2011?

I could not find on the internet any model that has more memory and is compatible with this iMac model.

  • Is there a list of compatible parts on the Apple website?
  • What's the link?
  • Where to buy?

Your system uses a MXM II slot video card. As to whats available you are limited to the ones Apple has used in their system and physically fits (they also have custom firmware).

21.5" iMac Mid 2011 Video cards:

  • AMD Radeon HD 6750M, 512MB - Apple P/N 661-5944
  • AMD Radeon HD 6770M, 512MB - Apple P/N 661-5945

What you are asking for is not workable in your system these cards are larger and have a different heatsink

27" iMac Mid 2011 Video cards:

  • AMD Radeon HD 6770, 512MB - Apple P/N 661-5967
  • AMD Radeon HD 6970, 1 GB - Apple P/N 661-5968
  • AMD Radeon HD 6970, 2 GB - Apple P/N 661-5969

Given the costs and work (risks) I think you'll find it cheaper looking for a used 27" Mid 2011 model which has the better card or even get one that doesn't and upgrade it if you really need this better card.

Frankly, unless you are playing video games or editing vids or pics you won't see much benefit without having the larger screen.

Hi,

I have a similar problem. But worst! My card stoped working.

I need to get another one to get my iMac back working again. Presently only works with Team Viewer screen sharing app, or maybe with an extra screen, which I didn't try yet.

Where's the best place to buy an used trustable one? There's a lot of AMD Radeon HD 6770M and 6750 M in the net,

But, I'm afraid they may not fit or work in my mid 2011 iMac 2.5 GHz intel EMC 2428 A1311

AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB graphics, this card have not signal on thunderbolt port. my mac is iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011, High Sierra version 10.13.6. full update on 10/09/2020.

can you help me to resolve this problem? I need to connect second display with this machine

The MacRumors website has detailed instructions for upgrading the graphic card on your model. (I have the exact same model, with the exact same problem.)

There are actually several compatible graphics cards, but each has a few issues.
