Blue/purple marks on screen when slight pressure is applied on it?

Hi!

I have an iPhone 6 which I did a screen replacement for. When ever I snap the screen onto the phone fully and put some pressure on the screen-- blue/purple marks show up. There's one in particular that shows up right above the home button and appears when there is a slight pressure applied on the bottom part of the screen. Pressing the home button with more than just a finger nail triggers this too. So now, whenever I press the home button, the mark appears.

I have tried to see if there is anything under the screen causing this and I couldn't find anything. I attached the screen to a different iPhone. The problem was still there, the marks showed up in the same place too.

I ordered a second screen from the same company, and it also had the same problem with the marks in the same place. Albeit, the new one didn't have marks that were as dark as the other. But they both only had this problem when the screen was snapped into the iPhone. When it's detatched from the iPhone, it is completely fine--no marks appear from pressure.

What could be causing this? Am I doing something wrong?

Those are pressure marks. They are usually caused by either improper installation or a defective replacement screen. Have you tried installing the orignal screen to see if the problem goes away?

I would double check your installation procedure by following this guide. Look for anything that is protruding from the bottom, especially near the vibrator, speaker area or lower battery. I would also remove the LCD shield plate ans insure there isn't any dust or debris between the plate and the backlight.

However, considering that a second screen from the same supplier has a similar problem, it is more likely that they have a bad batch of screens where dust snuck into their manufacturing process. I would return your screen and try a different supplier.

Like Charles said, it could be battery connector/shield;

Or the board itself is jacked up;

(Not gonna say the speaker since you would have noticed, but worth mentioning for someone else looking for answers);

It could be that the battery itself is a bit inflated or jacked up;

Finally if the housing is bent backwards like a banana, it may be also causing this.

I replaced the battery, but it's still happening. This doesn't happen with an original Apple screen. I also tried it on another iPhone and the pressure marks show up in he same places. Could it be just a poor quality screen?

Yes it can very well be. There are more bad products out there than good.

Usually it's a result of a cracked screen. Try cleaning the screen

I also had this problem and for me it was due to misaligned parts. Particularly my battery connector bracket needed to be flipped 180 degrees. One side of the part was slightly different than the other side and this slight difference was enough to cause the entire part to seat slightly higher than it should in the assembly. It helps to get sideways and look along the edge of the phone (your eyes should be almost as table-top level) and look to see if anything is sticking up above everything else.
