Stuck on 1-1-1970 after screen replacement

In replaced an iPhone 6 screen, but now have a problem I never seen before. The iPhone is stuck at 1-1-1970. Even after unplugging the battery, nothing I do is solving the problem.

What I tried:

Setting the date time to automatic

Connect to wifi

Connect with 4G

Connect to pc

Change date manually doesn't do anything: the date and time doesn't change at all

I call and send text messages (strange?). Everything with internet involved, obviously doesn't work.

Also, Bluetooth doesn't seem to work. Spinning wheel keeps on spinning.

Wifi gets connected, so works.

Any thoughts? Thank you!

im assuming the phone itself currently has cellular service?

Yes, it has. I'm able to receive phone calls

have you tried running through the factory restore? if that doesnt fix it, you will be looking at a failing board component.

Complete factory restore, not yet. But I have already restored all settings.

Should I try the full factory restore?

Full factory restore as in restoring the iPhone via iTunes?

The problem is ("most likely") with your Wifi IC. You will need to contact a Micro-Soldering tech and have it either reballed or replaced. I have seen this a few times where the Wifi is greyed out and Bluetooth not connecting... but you say your wifi is connecting. Can you browse the internet with Data turned off?

If you have already tried restoring/resetting then software is not the issue and it's the hardware. The majority of the time, it is actual Wifi IC and a rare percentage of the time... a component surrounding the WiFi IC.

If you can't find a shop near you, you could always reach out to one of the pros here on Ifixit to have a look at it and diagnose it for you:

Thank you for your comment and advice.

WiFi isn't greyed out, only Bluetooth is. I can connect to my WiFi network and the password is checked and accepted, so I would assume the WiFi IC works?

Internet browsing isn't possible, just because of the time difference (certificates are not valid and servers can't communicate). Any thoughts with this info?

By the way: I have access to an x-ray vision inspection system. I'll probably take a look at the soldering of the WiFi chip tomorrow.

Bluetooth and WiFi are the same chip.
