5c battery repair fail. Not turning on, maybe just no screen. help?

So I got a new battery and toolkit for my 5c. Confidently and following the instructions I opened it up and removed the old battery. I took a sortof stupid approach to the battery removal, I cut the plastic open, took the battery innards out (with gloves, Nickel cobalt manganese and lithium, nasty) and then was able to easily peel the plastic out without prying.

put in a new battery, reassembled. nothing.

doesn't turn on. no sound, no ring, no vibrate and dead black screen.

I've noticed if I plug into a computer, it recognizes that there's an iPhone (but I can't "trust" it without a screen)

if I have someone call me, it rings on their end (like the phone is on, not direct to voicemail as it does when it's turned off) but phone remains still and dead on my end. I have noticed that I can hit the volume buttons to send the call straight to voicemail.

I think the screen's maybe dead. I didn't remove it when changing the battery and was also careful not to open it all the way and risk pulling the cables.

I also have since tried to open the screen wire cover and unclipped and removed the screen. nothing was detached when I got in there but I removed and reinstalled anyway for good measure and no change.

thoughts?

Did you unplug the battery before attempting to replace the battery?

Plenty of factors in tampering can cause this issue, and the most frequent are listed below.

remember to remove a battery before any repair.

remember to do A HARD RESET after every replacement. (Home button, and power button for 20 seconds, or until you see the apple logo.)

is your screen not woking after a repair? these are reasons that could be happening.

1) The Connections to the screen are loose: A good technician will remove the screen before replacing the battery, as to avoid stressing out the flex ribbon during the repair. Unfortunately, this may cause the connections to not be reassembled properly. open up the device, re-remove the screen, and attach it again. make sure you hear a click with each connector you apply. Should you have access to it, i would also suggest cleaning the connections with 99% isopropyl for a longer lasting device.

2) The Flex Ribbon has been damaged: Should a technician not remove the screen from the board before the replacement of parts, the stress put onto the flex ribbons can not only have the chance to tear the ribbon, but more commonly, partially sever the circuit attached to the LCD/Digi itself. Many will argue that "A good technician is skilled enough to not have to do this," but this usually just means they want to rush the repair. anyone worth their salts will remove the possible factor of damaging the phone, no matter how small the chance may be. accidents can still happen. In this case, replacing the screen should fix the issue.

3) Image Processing IC: Low quality screens, lack of Antistatic protection, and use of metal tools can cause static discharge which damage the GPU. A much more advanced repair, replacing this IC should fix the issue.

4) Missing/damaged components in the related circuit: There are hundreds of components on a board. using the wrong tool in the wrong spot, slipping with the drivers or even a drop, can cause failures on the Screen. Manually scan the board for damaged or missing components in the areas you have worked, and replace as necessary. (A microscope is very helpful attempting this)

4) Motherboard damage: If ALL else fail, you have a perminant failure in the PLB, and need to replace it.

We're back in action. I think it must've been #2, The fix was a new screen. I did remove the screen initially and no indication of damage to the wires, but a new screen fixed me. The new screen however cracked within a week in my pocket, wish I could've saved the OEM one.

you can purchase screens of different grades.

my store uses a grade that my supplier calls S+, Which is OEM standards, and QC tested.

This will have the glass, frame, and circuits, all manufactured in the same process apple does
