My 6 yr old Kenmore washer has started agitating while filling and pouring water while spinning. I've had to leave the lid open initially and then turn the water off during the spin cycle. Thank you for your help.

The problem could be a faulty timer or pressure switch. I recommend unplugging the washer and opening the console. I have provided you with the instructions for accessing the console below. Then locate the pressure switch. It is the part that has the small hose connected to it. Once you find the pressure switch, unplug the wires to in. then plug the washer back in and start a wash cycle. If the washer does not do anything, the pressure switch needs to be replaced. If the motor still runs or makes noise the timer needs to be replaced.

I think it is a typo and it should say "...find the pressure switch, unplug the wires to it."
