I can use a strong flashlight and see the screen selections in the background . I have factory reset the TV 3 times with no resolution to this issue. My kid said she was adjusting the settings when the problem occurred. I haven't opened the TV up yet. Are there any suggestions? This was a very pricey TV.

you lost the backlight. This should have nothing to do with adjusting the settings, so your kid is definitely not at fault :-)
You’ll have to take the back cover of and check the power board or obvious damage like leking or domed looking caps. Samsung is known for that. Post some good pictures of all of your boards so we can see what you see. That will help us to point things out and give you hints on where and what to check. For now, It could be power board, t-con board and bad backlight array. Since it is a Samsung, you can try and disconnect the cable from the power board to the main board. See if that turns the backlight on. Let us know what you find.
