Does not switch on . Red light blinking

Look for a pattern in the blinks. For example, 5 blinks then a pause, 5 more, pause, etc. This will indicate the source of the problem (or could). If the set goes from standby to "starting" then to blinking red, it means that the startup tests have failed. This could be as simple as a power supply problem or a more complex problem with the logic board. In any case, the model number and blink count (if there is one) is critical in knowing and resolving the problem.
