Spinning and draining but clothes still dripping wet

Washer is draining and spinning but clothes are still dripping wet. Takes 2 or 3 extra spin cycles to get them drained enough. Drain hoses and water pump are clear of clogs. How do you know if a water pump does not work?

@niefs

that sounds more like an issue with the drive for the spin mode. Could be a clutch issue. Depending on your exact model, if the clutch slips your washer will not spin fast and forceful enough to get the water out of the clothing. Let us know the model number so we can get you more information on that.

You want to go ahead and check the clutch first. You could temporarily hold the lid switch down and open the cover while the machine is spinning. Check the spin speed and see if it is slow and if your machine has trouble spinning the load. The clutch looks like this

I have attached a picture with model number etc. Not sure what info is needed.

Model # - 23014101

But it works some of the time. If I check the spinning and it is fast enough, what next?

@niefs you still want to check it. Anyhow when it is done spinning, do you still have water in the tub?

yes it does typically still have some water in the tub (about an inch or so). So the clothes look like they have been "spun" - the ones on the top are a bit too wet and the ones on the bottom are VERY wet (sitting in water)
