Is the internal memory on the motherboard?

Got my rx100 fixed by an offical sony guy unoffically(without paperwork,for cheaper price). Claimed motherboard was changed but serial was same as before and all my settings are the same. So is the internal memory on the motherboard? if it is then I think i just got cheated…

Btw I think serial number can be changed later by software, so maybe i didn’t get cheated if internal memory isn’t on the motherboard.

It’s integrated into the logic board. He probably has the software to alter the serial number on a new board.

Ask him about it and see what your gut feeling is about this guy. Who diagnosed that the board needed replacing? Were you given the old part?

I wonder why this would matter. You did not tell us what the issues with the camera were before you took it for the repair. You also did not tell us if the camera is now fixed. “fixed by an offical sony guy unoffically(without paperwork,for cheaper price)” what was your expectation. Integrity, Loyalty and Honor?
