TV says device power is off
TV shows internet based programs (Netflix etc) with a good picture. For HDMI, the TV cannot recognize the cable box and says the “device power is off”. We have had cable box replaced and it works well on another TV. We have tried turning the TV off for 10 minutes and reconnecting box, but the device off message is still there.

have you tried a new HDMI cable, or disconnecting all device, shutting down Tv. Turn off at wall plug, press tv power on for 10-20 sec (even though is powered off) leave for the 10 minutes or so and then restart as just the tv. Then introduce all HDMI items. it may be just one cord is broken, one HDMI slot is not responding or the tv just needed to be reset.

It has been workng fine for about a year, but we noticed this after there was a lightning strike near our house that flipped some circuits.

Can you connect another signal source to the HDMI ports, e.g. a dvd player etc to see if they work OK?
