adam  I don’t think that is is an exact temperature issue but a consistent temperature across the whole back. Your blow dryer may not supply enough heat over the whole back panel. Check this guide Samsung Galaxy S7 Rear Glass Replacement and consider step 2 “If you have trouble, apply more heat to further soften the adhesive, and try again. The adhesive cools very fast, so you may need to heat it repeatedly. “

Thank You. Still looking for a temperature. My Blow dryer gets hot... but not hot enough. I dont want to damage the phone. Any input??

Agreed, your blow driver does not provide enough heat. Get a heat gun, set it at low temp and try to provide consistent heat to eat. Or invest in a hot plate for that purpose.

I use a hot air gun with about 80 to 100°C. Gently and very careful to use!

It is posible but not recommended, a hair dryer can help opening the back without breaking it but it overheats by itself and turns off continiusly, a heat gun will keep the phone warmer tho to easily open it without many attempts.

Help I used a heat gun all was going well till I noticed a mark appear l, now seams I have burnt the LCD screen so I have a cream coloured patch anyone got any idea if I can fix this problemt hank you

Refer to this guide on how to do a back glass replacement on the S7:

Samsung Galaxy S7 Rear Glass Replacement

I use guitar picks, suction cup to lift up a corner of glass a bit after heating the adhesive then go around the adhesive with the guitar pick to lift the glass up safely.

I think the key is to get the guitar pick under the whole adhesive if possible as it gives the best result when prying the back glass off.

I used an IR thermometer. Increased temp with heat gun by 10F between attempts. At 240F I got an edge to lift.

I used a heat gun, plus a digital thermometer (auto type). Heated it to 75C. Had to do it multiple times.

Here is the trick.

1/ Do not put the suction cup on until you are finished heating, otherwise when pulling the pull point is too hot and soft.

2/ Mine was a Nokia 7 plus, metal back, but regardless, heat both sides. If just heating the one side you are only heating one side with glue, you want to warm up both sides, and warming both sides will keep it warmer longer while you work.

3/ I used the metal pry tool, it worked if I used the suction on the glass, and the pry tool at the point I wanted to get in, so was pulling with the suction and pushing the opposite side with the tool, if both sides heated 75C, it will let go, otherwise trying to jam the tool in you will be doing it forever.

4/ Once you get your tool in, only go as far as needed to break the glue, that is about 1/6”, max 1/8”. The videos I watched for my phone did not indicate this, so when I put my phone back together, the phone turned on no problem, but I had somehow broken the screen connection with the tool going in too far.

I found an easy way: use an electric iron. The one for clothes I mean. It has to be an adjustable one, to the low setting. NOT a steam iron. Works like a charm.

Genius! Absolutely Genius!

How long did you leave it on the iron for ? I'm about to try a hair dryer method to if it works. Just curious in case it does not.

@brent80106 well thank you🙂

set temp for 90C...seems to be ideal after reading here.

Between 80-100 occurred to me but not 100C (boiling point!) any moisture in the glue?

I bought a heating pad NZ$70 ? Set the temperature and like the guy said, try at ever increasing temperatures until the screen lifts.

The trick there being not to try to pry the screen off the glue with so much effort it causes the screen to crack.

I’ve read that it should be hot enough to the touch that you can’t leave your finger on the heated area. I would apply even heat and test frequently until the temperature becomes too hot to touch. That way you lessen the chance of over-heating and damaging the components. I hope that helps.

225 degree Celcius is critical failure for microchips. It's extremely unlikely you'll damage it with a blow dryer at any point. If we still had LCD displays it would be a concern but it's now oled displays so it's pretty safe to just blast.
