Can you swap SIM Card slot on iPhone Xr
So as far as I know Xr uses modular SIM Card, which makes me wonder whether or not it will soon be possible to swap singular SIM Card slot to Chinese Dual SIM one?

I haven’t seen any detailed tear down of the sim slot yet. They could be one and the same, you could actually swap just the SIM tray to insert 2nd SIM and dual physical SIM only disabled by software.
Or it could be that global model has a dual layer SIM slot with one side blanked out, not really sure which is which.

The eSIM is integrated in the Single Sim Card Reader.

I bought a “Dual SIM Card Reader with flex cable + SIM Card Tray Holder Slot Adapter Replacement” from China and now I have a Iphone XR dual physical SIM

I have exchanged/replaced the SIM card reader of my iphone XR with a DUAL Sim card reader and can confirm that it works.
eSIM is then no longer possible because the eSIM chip is/was integrated in the Single Sim Reader.
I now use 2 Nano SIM cards from Deutsche Telekom.
Ich habe den SIM Card Reader meines iphone XR durch einen DUAL Sim Card Reader getauscht/ersetzt und kann bestätigen, dass es funktioniert.
eSIM ist dann nicht mehr möglich weil der eSIM Chip im Single Sim Reader integriert ist/war.
Ich benutze nun 2 Nano SIM Cards von der deutschen Telekom.

This only works with the iPhone XR and iPhone 11. Not with the XS / XS Max / 11Pro / 11Pro Max.
Only the XR and 11 have a SIM card reader installed separately.
For all others, the SIM card reader is soldered to the logic board.
Das funktioniert nur mit dem iPhone XR und iPhone 11. Nicht mit dem XS/XS Max/11Pro/11Pro Max.
Nur XR und 11 haben einen seperat verbauten SIM Card Reader.
Bei allen anderen ist der SIM Card Reader auf dem Logicboard verlötet.
