Did you manage to find a connector for CN3 on backlight board?

Hi Brett, got a spare or repair computer and swapped it.

I had a similar case as you. In my case the cable connector was still intact, but all four pin terminals inside the board connector were slightly bent upwards, restricting me from mating with the sockets on the cable connector. I fixed this by slightly bending down the board connector pins to their original straight shape, or at least straight enough to mate with the sockets on the cable connector. Once connected, I put a small piece of tape over the board connector, holding it down onto the board. I used the flat chisel-end of a ifixit-Spudger to smear and press down the tape onto the connector and board, to help the tape adhesive to bond better with the connector and the board.

@kennyz55 connector J9001 is a Molex 53780-8606 ''1.25mm Pitch Wire-To-Board Connector Wafer Assembly for SMT 6 Circuits Right Angle Emboss T/R

CN3 appears to be a Molex as well but you will have to measure the distance between the pins etc. You could most like find a replacement at places like mouser.com or digikey.com as well as many others.

Will need to buy P/N DF13A-6P-1.25H(76). It appears that the Molex part number 53780-8606 is obsolete.

I ordered the part on 5/24/20 and will try to install it and see if it works.

How did you get on with this as I have the same problem
