Where can I find a repair shop in NYC for these speakers?

Given that the battery hasn’t been recharged for 2 years, it most probably has become depleted beyond recovery and needs to be replaced.

Have you thought about doing the repair yourself?

The only thing to be aware of is that you reconnect the new battery the same way as the old battery was connected (in case the connector goes on both ways) so that the battery polarity is correct. Just check which side the red wire goes to or take pictures before you unplug the old battery to remind you. (pull out by gripping the plastic connector and not by the wires)

If you do decide to repair it yourself you’ll get a great sense of satisfaction afterwards, when it works. Just remember to take your time doing it and not to rush it. Keep a jar or container handy to put all the screws in so that you don’t lose any of them. Also remember to fully charge the new battery after the repair, before testing the speaker
