Hi @josieaxrcher ,

What doesn't turn on anymore, the phone or the computer?

The heading says the computer but the text reads like it is the phone that is not turning on

So your computer is not a Lenovo Yoga 710 14lKB then?

Giving the correct make and model and OS will really help to get you relevant answers.

The computer make and model information is usually listed on a sticker either at the back of the computer or on the bottom.

Does it turn on and stay on with the charger connected to it and switched on?

@jayeff well my computer won’t turn on. And I think it says its a FLEX 4-1470 and it won’t turn on the button will turn on and not do anything then it will turn off so i don’t know what to do!

Hi @josieaxrcher ,

Try connecting the charger to it and just check if it shows that it is charging OK.

If it is then let it charge for a while and then try to turn it on with the charger still connected and switched on

@jayeff it has been doing that for a couple days so I will try some more

Hi @josieaxrcher ,

You may have to open it up to hopefully find out what’s wrong and to get it working.

Was the laptop still working after you plugged in the phone or did it turn off when you plugged the phone in?

If it shut down as soon as you plugged in the phone (or even if it didn’t) use a strong light and a magnifying glass to inspect the USB port that you plugged the phone into to see if it damaged at all. Check that all the pins are there and that they are straight and parallel with each other and are not bent or touching each other.

If the USB port appears to be damaged, it will need to be replaced before attempting to fix the “no start” problem.

If the USB port appears to be OK then you could try a power reset which involves opening the laptop to see if this resolves the problem.

Here’s a link to the service manual for the laptop.

Scroll to p.36 to view the necessary pre-requisite step and then the procedure to remove the battery pack.

You don’t have to remove it, just disconnect it from the motherboard.

Once it has been disconnected, press and hold the laptop’s Power button for 30 seconds and then release it, to drain any residual power from the laptop.

Next connect the charger to the laptop and switch the charger on. (leave the battery disconnected at this stage)

Press the power button and see if the laptop starts OK.

If it doesn’t start then you have a motherboard problem

If it does start then let it to boot all the way to the Windows desktop, allow the HDD activity to settle a bit and then turn off the laptop in the normal way.

Once it has completely shutdown, switch off and disconnect the charger.

Reconnect the battery pack and replace the back cover on the laptop.

Reconnect and switch on the charger and try to turn on the laptop.

If it starts, let it boot all the way to the Windows desktop, allow the HDD activity to settle down a bit and then check the charge status of the battery. If it is charging, allow it to fully charge before switching off the charger and disconnecting it from the laptop.
