iPhone SE cannot be turned on after dropping to the floor

Hello everyone,

I bought iPhone SE that was dropped on the floor and it cannot be turned on.

I checked it already, and found that the battery was not functioning. After I changed the new battery, it can be turned on. However, it turned off automatically after 10-15 second. Two days latar, the voltage of battery dropped. Therefore, the iPhone cannot be turned off.

Today, I connected the iPhone to a DC power supply which was adjusted at 4 volt. The current showed at 0 A.

when I turned it on, the current changed to 0.18 A.

However, when I hold the on/off button in order to turn it off again, the current was changed to 0 A, and suddenly increased to 0.18 A again.

Does it has a problem on the button for turn on and off?

Thank you very much

Update 06.03.2019

It can be turned on. iTune reconised it.

It has an activation lock which showed in iTune.

I did already restore and update my iPhone.

After update, the first screen show “Hello press home to open”. However, when I press home button, it rebooted itself.

Sometimes, it turned itself off about 2-3 minutes later, when I did not press the home button. The battery status showed green color at first time. Then, it change to red color

Is it the problem from the logic board or the charging port (part for home button connecting)?

Update 08.03.2019

It did not turn itself off. However, it still rebooted when I pressed home button.

I changed already a charging port, but the problem cannot be solved.

Sounds like you may have an issue with charging to start with as the battery ran flat. Could be charging port, but seen as the phone was dropped, more likely a board level issue.

Also try to see if iTunes will recognise the phone. It may be stuck in a boot loop trying to start. NB - this will wipe all the data from the device.

  1. Connect the device to a computer using a USB cable.
  2. Hold down both the Home button and Lock button.
  3. After 8 seconds, release the Lock button while continuing to hold down the Home button.
    • If the Apple logo appears, the Lock button was held down for too long.
  4. Nothing will be displayed on the screen when the device is in DFU mode. If open, iTunes will alert you that a device was detected in recovery mode.
    • If your device shows a screen telling you to connect the device to iTunes, retry these steps.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your help.

Now, my iPhone can be turned on. iTune reconised it.

It has an activation lock which showed in iTune.

I did already restore and update my iPhone.

After update, the first screen show “Hello press home to open”. However, when I press home button, it rebooted itself.

Sometimes it turned itself of about 2-3 minutes, when I did not press the home button.

I have added further information and pictures in the update at the main post.

Sounds like it may not have enough battery charge. Is the battery charging now? Try leaving it for a bit to get some charge in to the battery.

Read this thread: My iPhone boots to the Apple logo and then turns itself off.

It has no battery.

I connected it with the DC power supply.
