Why is my wifi grayed out?
Hey, I have an iphone 8 plus that has wifi grayed out, but will still connect to cellular. Any ideas? I have already reset it entirely and it still didn’t work.

Broken wifi chip which requires board level repair, that’s it.
Wifi and cellular are unrelated.

Why can't it be the wifi antenna?
It’s definitely not the antenna, the logic function is not working, so it’s a chip issue.
It’s like when your car won’t start, but you are suspecting there is something wrong with the tire.
If the antenna is “broken” (common with iPhone 6), you get very low signal. When the WiFi function altogether is missing, then the wifi circuit is down. A lot of times from drop damage (common with iPhone 7), sometimes from electrical damage (common with iPhone 6s).
I had same issue, ended up being a software issue, I noticed also at the same time I had a greyed out wifi, my phone. Would randomly not charge, this to was fixed with my new software

Hi, im 16. How do i know what the problem is? Wether if its the antenna or the board? The Wi-Fi is greyed out, I don't have cellular data, and I'm trying to repair myself. What should I do?
That sounds like WI-FI chip is damaged or dry soldered. There have two factor that you can solve by this way.
Sometime WI-FI chip dry soldered throw over heat that remove PCB from board and re-hot WI-FI chip on 240 aprox 1 min then check most of the cases are solved. If the problem is still same remove the WI-FI chip then re-ball and fix.
If you have to change the WI-FI chip that need to unbind the Nand chip too. So,you need the Nand programmer to unbind WI-FI address or WI-FI address unlocked. If you have to know further this may help you.Have all process 7,7Plus and 8,8Plus have same process.

Sounds like you are having issues with your wifi antenna. Your in good luck it’s really cheap.

It's rarely the WiFi antenna. Besides, even if you remove the antenna, you'll still get one or no bars but the function will not be grayed out.

What you are saying is, the TV is not turning on, it is probably the antenna that needs replacing.
Can confirm it is board related. Have ran into this issue and it was still occurring after replacing all antennas.
