How safe to wire another electronic inside an old lcd?

May sound crazy, but this seems somewhat like just using a power strip at the wall

I want to splice another elecgronic in the tv (before the wires reach the transformers of each)

Unorthodox, but should theoretically be safe if done properly, right? (Good splice, proper home wiring connections, etc)

Mount a small power strip on/in the TV and run it to the wall. Now you can plug your TV and your other device into it and only have one wire running to the wall.

Same principle, more bulk, and would require shortening both original power cords

@mastalock

sure you could. It’ll get bulky if you want to keep the original power plugs. I’d cut the plugs off and connect with something like the new Molex Coeur CST High-Current Interconnect System Series 204316 or Series 204318. Would make it decent looking. Female parts integrated into the TV and male parts connect to the end of those device you want to connect to. Of course, make sure that you attach it properly to avoid injury from electrocution.

Not sure how that works here. It's talking about some float system

Added. Looks horrible, needs counter rotation too. I would have used home wiring twist connects at each splice (pos, neg, gnd)

The thick blue is the cords inside the insulation.

So, @oldturkey03 image help?

Sure you can do that. Instead of splicing or using wire nuts etc., use a connector. It'll be a more professional look and will allow you to make any changes (i.e. new device transformer etc.)later on.
