Actually you need to replace the CPU/NAND/ Baseband CPU and EEPROM. The skill level required to do this consistently is pretty much unheard of in NA and western Europe and the cost factor makes it unviable in almost all situations except where data recovery is extremely important and you are willing to pay a higher price to achieve it.

This can be done more cost effectively on China.

You will need to replace the NAND, baseband, and baseband memory ICs on the logic board. The chips are BGA-soldered so you will need BGA solder reflow skills and equipment to replace them.
