I recently changed my battery but I got it off ebay, I was wondering if it was worth buying a new legit one. I am hoping it will last me 6-8 hours since i use my laptop for university. Also my laptop works fine but the battery is so annoying since it only last an hour

The 2012 Air is a nice and reliable Mac, still supported with latest OS release and in my opinion worth investing in a decent battery. One hour battery time doesn’t make any sense even for an average quality aftermarket battery, the timing reflects a faulty battery that sooner than later will probably stop working completely. You can download Coconut battery to get battery condition in a glance and post a screenshot for better evaluation if you care, but I believe that would probably confirm a replacement should be in order.

https://imgur.com/nKBgavt The only thing I am annoyed about is I Recently replace my battery hoping it would last me at least 4 hours. I uploaded a photo of the condition of my battery and the specs.

@Michael Grima Battery capacity seems fine, it doesn't make sense it lasts only abt an hour unless there are hardware faults. Try running activity monitor to check if there are processes hanging all the time.
